Abstract: 150 times of water bursting had happened since the lower coal seam was mined in 1965. They were all related to geology tectonic. The geology tectonic characteristics, water bursting mechanism and growth rule influencing water bursting were analyzed and summarized in this paper. It was put forward that applying macroscopic phenomena such as bursting tectonic and growth rule, aquifer faulting and connecting relationship and microscopic phenomenon such as mechanic property of tectonic level to forecasting mine flood.
