Abstract: This article introduces the mechanism of bolt supporting, analyses the effect of bolt direction and bolt parameters on bolt supporting, concludes that main effect of the bolt on rock control is to compress the surrounding rocks to a steady rock that can support some load, and increasing the density of bolts is good for increasing the thickness of compression zone, increasing the supporting ability of the surrounding rocks, and keeping the stability of whole surrounding rocks.
